About the Owner
My name is Karen Scott
I've always enjoyed sewing. I started in 1970 at the age of 10. My mother sewed, mostly clothing, but my grandmother quilted and I loved all the quilts she made. It was something I wanted to do.

When I was pregnant with my first child I was encouraged to buy some 6" squares, sew them together, and make a quilt for my baby. This was to keep my hands busy while on a long bus trip. I stitched all the squares together by hand. I was advised how to quilt it together with a large hoop on the trip home. From that moment on I was hooked.
Finding time to make quilts was hard but I did manage to make a baby quilt for all my children. I squeezed in hand quilting whenever I had downtime at work.
In 2012 I was invited to join a monthly group class where we were given a block pattern each month that matched. When we were finished the year we had enough squares to make a 12 block quilt. I took finishing classes to learn how to put squares together into different sized quilts. I took other classes to learn how to make quilts that had unique patterns.
Eventually, I branched out on my own to make my own quilts. I've always loved teaching. Growing up I taught crafts, swimming lessons, Sunday school, Bible classes, homeschooled my children, and taught specialty classes to other homeschooled children. Now, I want to teach/pass on my love of sewing thru making quilted crafts and blankets
